IT'S TIME TO GO

Farenthold to face Ortiz in November 2010 Congressional Race

Blake Farenthold, Corpus Christi Conservative Talk Show Host, will run against the incumbent, Solomon Ortiz, for the Texas District 27 Congressional District in the November election. You can read about Blake at the following sites.

Together we can put a Conservative face on the United States Congress and get Texas and the United States back on the right path.

IT'S TIME FOR CHANGE

Solomon Ortiz has been the Texas District 27 Congressional Representative since 1983. With his recent votes supporting ObamaCare and other liberal bills, he has definitely outworn his welcome and needs to be sent into retirement.
Warren has sent Congressman Ortiz his PINK SLIP!

Green Jobs and Energy

Green jobs are a waste of space, a waste of money, a lie, a chimera. You know that. I know that. We’re familiar with the report by Dr Gabriel Calzada Alvarez of the Rey Juan Carlos University in Spain which shows that for every “green job” that is created another 2.2 jobs are LOST in the real economy.

We also know that alternative energy is a fraud – only viable through enormous government (ie taxpayer subsidy) and utterly incapable of answering anything more than a fraction of our energy needs. As Shannon Love puts it here:

Here’s a fact you won’t see mentioned in the public policy debate over “alternative” energy:

There exists no alternative energy source, no combination of alternative energy sources, and no system of combinations of alternative energy sources that can fully replace a single, coal fired electric plant built with 1930s era technology.

Nada.
Zero.
Zilch.

HEALTH INSURANCE

Is the government requiring you to have Health Insurance going to work as well as the government requiring you to have Automobile Insurance?

The National Debt

When Ronald Reagan left the presidency in 1989 the National Debt was about 2 trillion dollars, up from 1 trillion when he started in 1981 and the Democrats were outraged (I was one of them). The National Debt is now rapidly approaching 12 trillion dollars (12,000,000,000,000) and if we get National Healthcare and Cap & Trade there will be no prospect in the foreseeable future to pay it down. How did the Democrats go from touting balancing the budget at the end of Bill Clinton’s presidency to the deficit spending that we are now experiencing?

The cost to run the U. S. Treasury in 2008 was 550 billion dollars which includes the interest on the National Debt. The current rate on a 5 year Treasury Note is 2.75% and based on that rate the annual interest on the debt would be about 330 billion dollars. During the years 1980 to 1982 the interest rate on a 5 year treasury note was between 11.6 and 15.9 percent; and home mortgage rates were at 16 percent for a 30 year fixed. The interest on the National Debt based on a 1980 (Jimmy Carter) 12% rate would be almost 1.5 trillion dollars (1,500,000 million). Unless you have a budget surplus and spend less money than you take in, the National Debt will continue to rise and the interest that has to be paid will escalate at an accelerated rate. You can equate this to borrowing money on your credit card in order to make your next card payment. When you have a downturn in your personal revenue (like the government is having at present) something bad is going to happen sooner or later. The way the government presently controls inflation is by lowering the prime lending rate, but now they can’t lower that any further.  As our government continues to borrow and print more money like it is, sooner or later big time inflation will rear its ugly head. At that point in time they won’t be able to print money fast enough to pay the debt, and I, for one, fear for our Country’s future.  Who is going to predict when we cross that line and are unable to pay our obligations? Personal bankruptcy is a tragedy; bankruptcy of the United States is a disaster.

As long as we continue to elect representatives (Democrat and Republican) that continue to spend money that they don’t have, in order to get themselves re-elected, we as a country are doomed to fail. When Bill Clinton was President we had a Republican Congress that somewhat got this, but when we additionally got a Republican President in power, everyone in government started spending like there was no tomorrow. Now with the Democrats running all branches of government, we are into hyper spending. Our present course is unsustainable, and I don’t see any solution, but somehow the yahoos in Washington need to get with the program and see the folly of their ways. The government is telling you that you can have your cake and eat it too … I think that they are all liars.

The Cost of Healthcare

What is everyone that doesn't have healthcare now going to say when they still can't or don't want to pay the premium costs under Obamacare? What are they going to say when they get fined when they don't have insurance coverage? I just don't think that the Kool Aid drinkers are thinking this thing through. Nobody has said what the premiums under Obamacare are going to be, but does a 17 percent reduction in your present insurance premium still make it something that you want to pay for. Does the fact that preexisting conditions are going to be covered make it affordable for you? Texas already has insurance that is required to insure you with preexisting conditions and a 17 percent reduction in premium costs will still not be cost effective for some people. If you pay the fine does that give you health insurance? So many questions and not too many good answers, but we can do much better than what the current Congressional Bozos are trying to give us. By changing rules we can make the current insurance industry much more competitive, and giving a tax credit for individual health insurance costs would make much more sense. Having health insurance would then be an individual's choice, not something that the government is forcing on you.
